Ameena Saiyid is the current managing director of Oxford University Press in Pakistan. She became the head of OUP Pakistan in 1988, becoming the first woman to ever head a multinational company in Pakistan. She is also the founder of Karachi Literature Festival.

Mr. Merchant also served as Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan for 2 years during 1985 and 1986 and appeared in important constitutional cases for the Government of Pakistan.
